Travel Tips: Guidelines for Flying with Homeopathic Remedies

Updated: Oct 30, 2019

Plane Trips

Although the ionizing radiation from 1 or 2 short plane trips may not significantly damage your homeopathic remedies, it could still slightly reduce their effectiveness. However, many plane trips can definitely reduce their potency and effectiveness (especially very long trips where you and your remedy receive significant “cosmic radiation”).* In fact, excessive radiation exposure can cause such oxidative stress and alteration to a remedy that it can render it so significantly changed that it is actually harmful to the body.

Best Rule To Go By

Always try to keep your original homeopathic remedy bottle completely clear and pristine at home in a cabinet or cupboard. Then before your trip pour out a a few pellets (e.g., 4 to 6) into a small “travel” bottle (or wrap in a paper towel and put in a plastic baggy if you don’t have a small glass bottle).

Things to do when you fly—2 choices:

  1. Ask the security person to hand check your remedies. This is a bit risky though because s/he may refuse and demand that they go through the x-ray machine. If they turn you down you could quickly wrap the remedies up in 3 to 4 layers of aluminum foil or the silver radiation protection bag** I include with every remedy, and then send them through the x-ray machine, but they may think this looks suspicious!

  2. Alternatively, you can wrap up your “travel” bottles in the silver radiation protection bag or aluminum foil and pack them in your suitcase. (By the way, even if you check your suitcase the present policy is to x-ray all checked bags too.) A few layers of aluminum foil or the silver bag can greatly reduce the x-ray radiation to the remedy. (But not so much that the package will show up on the x-ray screen. By the way, this is why a lead-lined bag to guard film is no good because it works too well, and the airport TSA inspectors will ask you to open your bag so they can inspect the radiopaque density seen on their x-ray.)

Note: Never go through the airport security scanner. Although the research is not definitive, this low dose ionizing radiation (x-rays) is most probably damaging to your body, and it will definitely antidote your remedy—not a good way to start a trip! Always opt out and allow a same-sex TSA worker with a fresh pair of gloves to pat you down, or get TSA PreCheck where you go through the line without the scanner. (If you are in a terrible rush and can’t opt out, at least dose your homeopathic remedy after you have been through the scanner.)

After you have flown with your “travel” bottle about 5 to 6 times, pour out any pellets and thoroughly wash it (dishwasher sterilization would be good, or boiling it in hot water) and dry the bottle, rendering it completely clean and dust-free for your next round of trips.

Herbal Remedies and Nutritional Supplements

Finally, it is also a good idea to also protect your herbal remedies and nutritional supplements from this airport and cosmic (during the plane flight) radiation. Count out only what you need on your trip and put these in a plastic baggy and label them. Then wrap them up in aluminum foil or the silver radiation protection bag.

Just traveling by plane increases your “cosmic radiation” exposure—to both yourself and your remedies. You can read more information on cosmic radiation and air travel by clicking here.* I buy these silver radiation protection bags from Uline.
